Quote
Request a Quote
Every shipment is unique, but our shipping quote process is designed to capture the specifics of your transport needs and give you the options you want. When you request a quote, please provide as many details as possible. This gives our specialists a good starting point for basing a quote.
Our goal is to have you a detailed quote within 48 business hours but in most cases, you should receive your quote in your inbox within 24 hours. Because it’s not uncommon for these to end up in you spam folder, we’ll send you a text notifying you when it’s been sent so you can keep an eye out for it.
Gather All Required Shipping Documents
For shipments to and from Guam, you’ll need a copy of a valid vehicle registration or copy of the title (Front and Back). If there’s a lien on the vehicle, you’ll also need a permission to ship letter from your lien holder. You’ll also need to complete our online booking agreement. You’ll then be emailed a copy of the signed contract and your Shipping Specialist will review the documents to ensure everything is in order and then give you a call to discuss the next steps, which includes preparing your vehicle for shipment and scheduling your shipping dates.
Prepare Your Vehicle
Many of the preparation requirements are similar to those for your government-shipped vehicle, which you may already be familiar with. These include the maximum ¼ tank fuel requirement, and the necessity for a clean vehicle. We will send you a comprehensive checklist via email to ensure that you don’t overlook any important details. However, the main difference is that you are not permitted to leave any personal belongings in the vehicle you are shipping at your own expense. This can sometimes catch customers by surprise. There is one exception to this rule, which is if you opt to ship your vehicle in a container. We encourage you to discuss this option with your Shipping Specialist.
Shipping
Trans Global Auto Logistics is an industry leader in customer support. You’ll be able to monitor the process step-by-step as your vehicle progresses.
Use a tracking website to track the status of your shipment, enter the name of the vessel that your vehicle is on (we provide this), and you can easily see where the vessel is in real-time. You’ll receive automated text and email notifications letting you know when your vehicle has sailed and when it arrives at the destination port.
You can also contact our offices in the U.S. directly or simply send us a quick email requesting a shipment status update.
Receive Vehicle At Destination
Before your vehicle arrives in Guam, we’ll send you detailed instructions on the necessary documentation needed to retrieve your vehicle. We’ll guide you through each step to ensure that all requirements are clearly understood and met.

Insurance & Personal Items
Does my vehicle need to be insured to be shipped?
While it’s recommended, your vehicle doesn’t need to be insured for shipping. During trucking, your vehicle is covered by the carrier’s cargo and liability insurance policies up to $100,000. However, Cargo liability insurance, does not cover Acts of God, such as hail, tornados, hurricanes, etc., and therefore it is recommended that you maintain coverage on your vehicle that would cover damage occurring due to an Act of God.
For Overseas shipments such as for Hawaii and Guam, we strongly suggest you take out Marine Insurance Coverage because your vehicle does not have any coverage. Transcar offers Marine Insurance so if you’re interested in this coverage, please contact your sales representative.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
- Land Shipments: Yes, your vehicle is covered by the carrier’s Trucking Cargo Insurance policy, typically up to $100,000, subject to certain limitations and exclusions.
- Ocean Shipments: No, your vehicle is not insured. Transcar does offer Marine Insurance which is a All Risk policy. Please contact your sales representative for details.
Do I have to pay a deductible?
- For Land Shipments: No, there is no deductible to pay if you need to file a claim for damage during transport.
- For Oceans Shipments: If you take out Transcar’s Marine Insurance, there is a 2% deductible.
Can I ship personal items in my car?
No, Personal items are not allowed to be left in the vehicle. Seats must remain upright. Be aware that carriers have restrictions, and unauthorized items may lead to additional fees or refusal of shipment.
Auto carriers are not licensed to carry household goods or personal items, therefore it is not recommended to leave items of that nature in your vehicle. Factory issued equipment and aftermarket items permanently installed are allowed to be left with the vehicle and will be noted accordingly on the truck bill of lading. If you do leave items in the trunk of your vehicle such as pillows, blankets, etc., the cargo insurance liability or driver will not accept any liability in case of loss or damage. Therefore, it is not recommended to leave anything in your vehicle other than standard factory issued equipment and accessories.
Are personal items in my car insured?
No, personal belongings inside your vehicle are not covered by the carrier’s insurance. Neither Transcar nor the carrier is liable for any personal items left in the vehicle during transport.
What if my personal items damage my car during transport?
Any damage to your vehicle’s interior caused by personal items is not covered by the carrier’s insurance. Personal items can shift during transit, potentially causing damage, so pack carefully.
How is the value of my car determined for insurance purposes?
The value is based on the actual cash value of your vehicle at the time of transport.
What should I do if my car is damaged during transport?
- Inspect your vehicle thoroughly upon delivery.
- Note any damages on the Bill of Lading/Vehicle Condition Report.
- Obtain a copy of the signed Bill of Lading from the driver.
- Take photographs of the damage.
- Contact Transcar to request the carrier’s Certificate of Insurance.
- File a claim with the carrier’s insurance company.

- 200 – 600 miles: 2 – 4 days

Can you guarantee a pickup or delivery date and time?
While we strive to meet your scheduling needs, guaranteeing exact pickup or delivery dates is not possible. We require a 5 business day pick up window.
We do offer expedited shipping options for guaranteed pickup dates. Please contact us at 682-252-4654 for a customized quote.
How will I know my pickup date and time?
Once a driver is assigned to your shipment, we’ll notify you via email with the estimated pickup date and the driver’s contact information. The driver will also reach out to you in advance to confirm details.
Do I need to be present at pickup or delivery?
Yes, you or an authorized representative (over 18 years old) must be present at both pickup and delivery to inspect the vehicle and sign the Bill of Lading.
What is a Bill of Lading?
The Bill of Lading (BOL) is a legal document between you and the carrier. It outlines the details of the shipment, serves as a receipt, and records the condition of your vehicle at pickup and delivery. It’s crucial for filing any insurance claims.
What is the procedure for pickup and delivery?
At Pickup:
- Inspect your vehicle with the driver.
- Note any existing damages on the BOL.
- Both parties sign the BOL.
- Receive a copy for your records.
At Delivery:
- Inspect your vehicle for any new damages.
- Note any new damages on the BOL.
- Both parties sign the BOL.
- Pay any remaining balance if applicable.
Do I need to drop off or pick up my vehicle anywhere?

Can I change my first available shipping date?
Yes, you can change your first available shipping date before your vehicle has been dispatched to a carrier.
How should I prepare my car for shipment?
- Clean your vehicle to allow for a thorough inspection.
- Remove personal items, especially valuables.
- Disable alarms and remove toll tags.
- Ensure only a quarter tank of gas is in the vehicle.
- Check for leaks and mechanical issues.
- Secure or remove loose parts like antennas or spoilers.
How much gas should I leave in my car?
We recommend leaving between 1/8 and 1/4 tank of fuel. This is sufficient for loading and unloading.
Do I need a vehicle title or registration to ship it?
For trucking only shipments: No, only the vehicle and keys are required. However, ensure the person releasing and receiving the vehicle has proper authorization.
For ocean shipments: Yes, depending on where it’s going, we will need these. Please consult with our sales representative for exact documents required.
Can I get a quote if I don't know the exact address?
Yes, providing the city or zip code is sufficient for an accurate quote. Exact addresses can be updated later.
What does happen when I ship my car?
When you ship your car with us, you have given us a date that your car will be available for shipping. Our dispatchers will then work to assign your automobile to the first available truck that can pick it up after it is ready for shipment. Our customer service department will then advise both the pickup and delivery points of contact that you have provided to us, with the estimated pick up and delivery dates. Our driver will then contact you or your appointed representatives at origin and destination, to further advise his estimated time of arrival at your location and also to coordinate a safe and legal loading or unloading location at or near your residence. At the time of pick up, the driver will complete a joint inspection of your auto and also at time of delivery. This is done in order to assure that your car has arrived safely and without transport damages. A copy of this inspection will be provided at time of pick up and at time of final delivery.
Will my vehicle be driven?
No your vehicle will NOT be driven other than for loading onto the transporter truck and off loading from the transporter. The odometer readings should be noted at pickup and delivery of the vehicle. Any discrepancies will be noted and signed off by the driver on the delivery receipt.
How do I prepare my car for pickup?
Any loose parts or specialty items such as spoilers, fog lights, or mirrors should be removed or secured properly for transport. Antennas should be removed or retracted. There should be an adequate supply of antifreeze in the radiator. The gasoline tank should have no more than one quarter. More gasoline in the tank only adds weight for transport. Make sure the battery is secure, with no leaks and fluid levels low enough to allow for expansion during transit. Any tears in convertible tops should be sealed or repaired to avoid further damage by air during transit. Tearing of convertible tops by wind will not be covered by cargo insurance. Alarm devices should be deactivated. Lastly, make sure that the vehicle is clean enough to allow accurate inspection at pickup.
Can I track my order during shipment?
Yes, once your order has been dispatched, we will provide you with the contact information of the carrier assigned to transport your vehicle. While drivers are legally prohibited from responding to inquiries while driving, the dispatch team for the carrier company can offer timely updates on your shipment’s status. Additionally, you can contact our vehicle transport service team at 682-252-4654 for any questions or concerns. We are committed to assisting you and will coordinate with the driver to provide you with the latest information.
After I place my order, when will I hear from you?
As soon as we have assigned a driver to your vehicle shipment, we will promptly reach out to you with all the relevant details. It typically takes between 1 to 5 business days to secure a truck for your order. Rest assured, we will notify you immediately once a driver is confirmed to keep you informed throughout the process.
Types of Car Shipping Services

Yes, vehicles with less than 4 inches of ground clearance typically require an enclosed carrier with a lift gate to prevent damage during loading and unloading.
Can I ship a vehicle with a roof rack?
Yes, if the roof rack is removable, we recommend taking it off and placing it inside the vehicle. If it’s permanent, please inform us as it may affect the shipping cost due to height restrictions.

What is the difference between a carrier and a broker?
- Carrier: Owns and operates the trucks that transport vehicles.
- Broker: Coordinates shipments between customers and carriers, leveraging a network to find the best match and rates.
Transcar operates as a fully licensed and bonded transport management company, working with a vast network of carriers to ensure efficient and reliable service.
What is the difference between a Carrier and a Broker?
A carrier is a company that owns and operates the trucks used to transport vehicles. Often, carriers are owner-operators who manage their own schedules and typically serve specific routes. They usually coordinate shipments through brokers to find customers.
A broker, like Transcar, maintains a vast network of carriers across the country. Brokers can often provide lower rates because they have access to multiple carriers competing for your shipment. They also handle the verification of carriers’ USDOT authority, federal licenses, and cargo insurance, ensuring that your vehicle is transported by a legitimate and qualified carrier. This vetting process can be challenging to manage on your own, so working with a broker simplifies the process and provides peace of mind.
What types of vehicles do you ship?
Transcar arranges transport for all types of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, minivans, and standard cargo or passenger vans. We also offer specialized shipping solutions for custom or modified vehicles. No matter the size or type of your vehicle, we have the expertise and resources to handle its transport safely and efficiently.
What is the First Available Shipping Date?
The First Available Shipping Date is the earliest date your vehicle is ready to be picked up. While we strive to accommodate this date, it may not always be possible to schedule the pickup exactly on that day due to carrier availability. If we cannot pick up your vehicle on the First Available Shipping Date, we aim to arrange for pickup within our usual window of 1 to 5 business days starting from that date. For more detailed information, please refer to our guidelines on pickup dates and times.
Will I receive a vehicle shipping contract?
Yes, when you place an order with Transcar, you agree to our Terms and Conditions, which serve as the contract for the transaction.
How long has Transcar been in business?
Transcar was established in 2006, and we have been providing reliable vehicle transport services ever since.
If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 682-252-4654 or visit our website for more information.
